Moroccan Lawyer and Brothers Arrested for Alleged Kidnapping of Police Officer

Given the seriousness of the charges against the defendant, the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Casablanca ordered his pre-trial detention and that of his two brothers, arrested for the same reasons. The latter were heard by the police before being brought before the Public Prosecutor’s Office in custody.

But what happened for a well-informed lawyer on the law to come to violate it? According to the daily Assabah, it all started with a complaint filed by the lawyer’s neighbors for noise disturbance. The police went to the scene to try to restore a bit of calm to the residents who could no longer stand the deafening noise coming continuously from the lawyer’s house.

But the exchanges between the latter and the police officer soon became stormy to the point where the lawyer’s brothers assaulted the officer and then forcibly dragged him into the house. A special brigade will be sent to the scene to free the kidnapped officer and arrest the lawyer and his brothers.

An investigation has been opened for assault on a police officer in the performance of his duties. The defendants are also being prosecuted for kidnapping and public drunkenness. According to the daily, the investigation of this case is confidential.
