Moroccan Lawmakers’ Free COVID Tests Spark Public Outrage
The free Covid-19 screening tests for Moroccan parliamentarians are causing outrage on social media.
These free screening tests are carried out in the private Rabat laboratory, Biolab, the only one approved throughout the kingdom, reports Bled News. Moroccans see this privilege granted to parliamentarians in a bad light. For various reasons.
First, these tests are at the taxpayer’s expense. Yet the price charged in the private sector varies between 600 and 700 DH. What provokes the annoyance of Internet users is that parliamentarians have the possibility to have these tests free of charge within the delegations of the Ministry of Health and in certain public establishments.
In the eyes of many Moroccans, parliamentarians already benefit from several advantages.
