A parliamentarian from the Marrakech Safi region, fearing contracting the coronavirus, was urgently admitted to a private clinic in the city, following the consumption of a large amount of clove infusion.

Highly prized in Morocco, medicinal plants are often used to protect against certain seasonal illnesses. With the spread of covid-19, herbalists have made a fortune thanks to the many customers who do not hesitate to pay dearly for these plants.
While the health authorities have banned self-medication with anti-inflammatory drugs, plants and essential oils, due to their toxic side effects, are not exempt from this ban.
