Moroccan Lawmaker and Doctor Implicated in Land Fraud Scheme Against Expat

In Settat, a deputy and a doctor in medicine find themselves involved in a case of land dispossession. Sixteen other people are also involved in this case.
This is the outcome of an investigation conducted by the Judicial Police Brigade. In total, 18 people are suspected of having tried to dispossess a 50-hectare plot of land, reports the daily Assabah. Among them, a woman, who practices the profession of doctor, a deputy as well as members of the family of the elected official. They are also accused of having fraudulently seized the house, and the land, of an area of 2 hectares belonging to a Moroccan residing abroad (MRE). According to the plaintiff, they had tried to dispossess these assets since 2018. Without success, the MRE’s guardian having resisted the multiple threats received. In turn, the MRE claims to have received death threats when he tried to recover these assets.
The doctor in medicine is notably accused of having signed a medical certificate used by the deputy involved in this case. A document that the elected official is said to have used to blackmail witnesses, in order to dispossess collective lands. The health professional would also have issued other medical certificates to other different people.
It took a medical examination for the investigators to discover the strange similarities in a number of medical certificates, in which the injuries mentioned are exactly the same. These are in fact false certificates written in barely legible handwriting. As an illustration, a certificate that reports a fracture, but does not prescribe the application of a cast or equivalent treatment.
All the accused have already been brought before the courts.
