Moroccan King Offers Condolences as Renowned Singer Abdelmounaim El Jamaï Dies at 73

Following the death last Sunday of the artist Abdelmounaim El Jamaï at the age of 73, King Mohammed VI sent a message of condolences and compassion to the artist’s family.
In his message, Mohammed VI states that he learned with deep sadness of the passing of Abdelmounaim El Jamaï, an artist who had a rich and brilliant career and is among the pioneers of modern Moroccan song.
For the King, as the divine will is inexorable, he presents to the members of the deceased’s family and, through them, to all his loved ones, admirers, and his national artistic family, his heartfelt condolences and sincere feelings of compassion. He says he remembers the qualities of the late, his passion for his art, his sincere patriotism and his attachment to the constants of the Nation and its sanctities.
Sharing the grief of the deceased’s family members, Mohammed VI implores the Almighty to grant them patience and comfort and to welcome the late Abdelmounaim El Jamaï in His holy mercy, to reward him abundantly for his actions in the artistic field in service of his homeland, and to accept him in His vast paradise among His faithful servants.
