Moroccan Journalist Hajar Raissouni Unveils at Wedding, Defying Expectations

Hajar Raissouni and her husband Rifaat Al Amine got married on Saturday, November 30, 2019, in Rabat. On this occasion, the journalist surprised more than one.
Used to wearing the veil, the niece of Ahmed Raissouni, former head of the Unity and Reform Movement (MUR), the ideological arm of the Party of Justice and Development (PJD), made an exception on her wedding day. Guests were surprised to see Hajar Raissouni without a veil, her hair braided. In terms of clothing, Hajar Raissouni wore an outfit typical of Sudan.
Sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of 500 dirhams for "sexual relations outside of marriage" and "illegal abortion" on September 30, Hajar Raissouni and Rifaat Al Amine were pardoned by the King on October 16.
