Moroccan Islamist Leader Arrested: Adultery and Human Trafficking Allegations Surface

While its leader for the Fès-Meknès region was arrested in the midst of a tryst with a divorced woman, the Al Adl Wal Ihsane (Justice and Charity) movement cries conspiracy.

On October 31, 2022, the judicial police elements of Meknès arrested Mohamed Baâssou, the head of the Al Adl Wal Ihsane association for the Fès-Meknès region, in flagrante delicto of adultery. They caught him in the act with a divorced woman, in his car in a secluded area, in the Toulale district. This arrest then led to the opening of an investigation, which revealed that the leader would also be involved in human trafficking.

Therefore, Mohamed Baâssou is accused of adultery and human trafficking. Instead of defending him by presenting irrefutable evidence or developing solid arguments, the Al Adl Wal Ihsane (Justice and Charity) movement resorts to victimization. Members of the Jamaâ "organized protest movements," before brandishing the conspiracy theory, reports the daily Al Ahdath Al Maghrbia.
