Moroccan Initiative Relocates 700 Former Border Workers to Textile Jobs

Some 700 female mules will be relocated to textile factories thanks to the integrated program for economic and social development of the prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq, and the province of Tétouan, in collaboration with the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills (ANAPEC).
Several employment contracts have been signed for the benefit of these women, who have been heavily impacted by the coronavirus and the closure of the Bab Sebta crossing point, reports the MAP. For now, only 107 employment contracts have been signed for a group of women to work in one of these textile industrial units. By the end of this week, all contracts should be signed for these women, whose transportation to their workplaces will be provided free of charge.
In detail, 300 contracts are available within a company located in the "Tétouan Park" economic activity zone, while 200 employment contracts are offered by a company in Tanger against 200 others with a company in Tétouan. All of these companies are specialized in the textile and clothing industries.
Pending the finalization of their employment contracts, these women should receive an advance on their salaries due to the urgent nature of the operation. In addition to these textile units, other job opportunities will also be offered to the other female mules who are waiting to be taken care of, it is assured.
