Moroccan Immigrant, 50, Wins Top Academic Prize in Spanish Vocational Training

Malika Talaa, a 50-year-old Moroccan living in the city of Peñaparda, has just won the Castilla y León prize for vocational training.
The 50-year-old Moroccan woman, despite stereotypes and discrimination, has managed to win the Castilla y León prize for vocational training. Malika arrived from Morocco six years ago with an English degree that, unfortunately, was not recognized in Spain, reports La Gaceta de Salamanka.
Malika obtained an average of 9.75 in administration and finance while in the intermediate cycle, which earned her this recent recognition. Currently, she is in the higher cycle in the same field and hopes to also obtain a good average.

"I am very happy, this prize is a recognition of merit, especially as a foreigner," said Malika who, without false modesty, declared her love for studies. "I love to study and work... I can work as an administrative employee, receptionist, accountant and financial..." she specified. Attention recruiters!
For Malika, integration is a matter of will. "Living in Morocco or living here, it’s a bit the same, except on the issue of democracy, since freedoms are not the same," she explains, adding that you "can do a lot of things here that you can’t do there." Malika lives with her husband, a Spaniard from Seville.
