Preachers have stormed the streets of Tangier to raise public awareness of the preventive measures to be taken to counter the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Don’t be the virus’s best allies!" Megaphones in hand, the preachers warn the population. They travel the avenues of the capital of the Strait in vans.
The imams call on citizens to strictly respect confinement. "Think of the health and authority personnel, mobilized to serve you. Don’t complicate their task. Stay home!" says a young imam.
"And if you want to repeat the Latif (prayer to ward off epidemics and disasters, ed.), don’t go to the terrace, do it at home. It’s the same thing," explains the imam.
