Moroccan Social Media Users Launch COVID-19 Awareness Campaign

Moroccan internet users have decided to take the lead in the fight against Coronavirus. They have launched several awareness campaigns on social media to urge the population to protect themselves by adopting life-saving gestures.

Limiting the damage to avoid the confinement that is looming over the kingdom and promoting hygiene and cleanliness rules to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This is the objective that Moroccan internet users are aiming for by launching a large-scale awareness campaign on the adoption of life-saving behaviors.

"I stay at home", "Stay at home", "Save lives", "All mobilized against Coronavirus", are the main messages being launched on social media to encourage Moroccan citizens to stay at home. Many groups and hashtags are created in support of these messages, to raise awareness among Moroccans about the adoption and respect of hygiene rules and preventive measures taken by the Moroccan authorities to avoid contamination and the spread of COVID-19.

The worsening of the toll is the trigger for this awareness campaign by Moroccan internet users. In total, 44 declared cases of Coronavirus in the kingdom, despite the drastic measures taken and the growing panic among Moroccans. In addition, gatherings continue to be observed in certain public places, such as fairs or souks.

These are risky behaviors that citizens must avoid to protect themselves and save lives.
