Moroccan Hairdresser Fatally Stabbed in Nouakchott on Eid al-Fitr

A young Moroccan national, residing in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott, was the victim of a knife attack on Eid al-Fitr day. Two men inflicted several fatal knife blows on him before abandoning his body in the street.
About thirty years old, he was in possession of a laptop and a sum of money when he was attacked, this Saturday, May 23, by two individuals with criminal records, reports the site Alyaoum24.
The scene quickly degenerated into a brawl during which the attackers used knives. The victim, named Zakaria, an employee in a hair salon downtown, received fatal knife wounds to the chest. His body, lying in a pool of blood in the middle of the road, was discovered a few hours later.
An investigation has been opened by the Mauritanian authorities to determine the exact circumstances of the crime. In addition, a nationwide search warrant has been issued to locate the two fugitive assailants.
