The Moroccan government sanctions Egyptian PVC

The investigation, officially closed on November 25, 2025, has established the reality of dumping. By comparing the selling prices in Egypt with those invoiced to Moroccan buyers, the administration has set high correction rates. The company Egyptian Petrochemicals Company (EPC), which cooperated during the procedure, is subject to a duty of 74.87%. For all other Egyptian exporters, the penalty is even more severe, with a rate climbing to 92.19%.

Unfair competition that stifles domestic production

This decision aims to protect a local sector in distress. The ministry’s analyses show that imports of Egyptian PVC have increased sharply in volume, flooding the market at cut-throat prices. This permanent underpricing has prevented Moroccan industrialists from adjusting their prices, leading to deficit margins and a loss of market share.

The final report concludes that there is "significant damage" to the national industry. It establishes a direct causal link between the massive arrival of these cheap products and the deterioration of the economic indicators of Moroccan companies. The recommended definitive measures therefore perpetuate the provisional duties that were already in place since last June.
