Moroccan Gendarmes Under Investigation for Alleged Drug Trafficking Collusion

Several agents of the gendarmerie brigade of Deroua, in the province of Berrechid, would be involved in a drug trafficking case. They are suspected of having "protected" a drug trafficker who was arrested.
The suspicions were raised by the judicial investigation opened after the arrest of the drug trafficker. These gendarmes, still on duty at the royal gendarmerie brigade of Deroua or already transferred, would be cited in the context of this investigation led by the investigating judge at the Court of Appeal of Settat. They are suspected of being accomplices of the drug trafficker, detained in the Ali Moumen prison in Settat, to whom they would have provided "cover", reports the daily Assabah.
"The names of five gendarmes were mentioned in the statements of the drug trafficker, as part of this investigation supervised by the Attorney General of the King at the Court of Appeal of Settat," said sources close to the investigation, specifying that the accused have already appeared before the courts to give their version of the facts. But "until Monday at noon, no decision had been made against them," continues the same source.
The Attorney General of the King at the Court of Appeal of Settat has instructed the investigators to shed full light on this case.
