Moroccan Gendarme’s Stolen Weapon Recovered After WhatsApp Sting Operation

The service weapon of a gendarme stolen a few days ago near Tit Mellil has finally been found. Investigators trapped the thief via the WhatsApp application.
The intervention of a gendarme made it possible to arrest the suspect, who responded to her messages on WhatsApp. Posing as an admirer, the agent gave him a meeting at the Ksar Lekbir train station.
Arrived on the scene in his car, the individual was surprised by a gendarmerie squad before being taken under close surveillance to the Royal Gendarmerie station in Ouezzane.
According to the daily Assabah, he had been hiding for more than fifteen days in difficult-to-access reliefs in the Moroccan Rif. He is being prosecuted for drug trafficking and theft of a gendarme’s service weapon in Casablanca.
