Wanted Drug Trafficker Disarms Gendarme and Flees in Casablanca

A drug trafficker wanted for some time fled last Saturday in Casablanca, taking the weapon of the gendarme trying to arrest him.
The gendarmerie officer was on a mission for the Aïn Sbaâ brigade in Casablanca for a traffic accident case that occurred in Tit Mellil. Not far from the accident site, he noticed the presence of the wanted drug trafficker, with his Audi vehicle.
According to the newspaper Al Akhbar, when trying to take advantage of the opportunity to arrest him, the trafficker welcomed him with violence without even being bothered by his service weapon, which he managed to snatch before fleeing in his car.
Immediately, the headquarters of the Royal Gendarmerie in Rabat and the regional brigade of Casablanca and region activated their services in order to apprehend this individual described as very dangerous. The police and the national brigade of the judicial police were also called in to lock down certain areas of Casablanca and prevent the man’s exit.
Al Akhbar reports that this system has already allowed the recovery of the car in the Nouaceur area near Deroua. Further on, in Mediouna and Berrechid, more than six other merchants suspected of having relations with the fugitive were arrested by the gendarmerie. They will have to help track him down.
