Moroccan Football Official Banned 3 Years for Slapping Coach, Faces Hefty Fine

For slapping Mustapha Ouchrif, coach of Olympique de Dcheira, Abdelhadi Indjar, general secretary of the same club, was suspended for 3 years by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). In addition to this suspension, the official was dismissed from the club.

According to the daily Al Massae, the FRMF disciplinary commission suspended Abdelhadi Indjar for three years from all sports activities and presence on a football field. At the end of this sanction, he will no longer be allowed to return to the club. This is his punishment for lacking delicacy towards Mustapha Ouchrif during the match between Olympique de Dcheira and Jeunesse d’Al Massira, which ended in the victory of the Laâyoune club.

He will also have to pay a fine of 20,000 dirhams, in accordance with Article 85 of the Disciplinary Code applied in Morocco, which mentions the assault committed against players and coaches during a match.

The FRMF disciplinary commission was able to measure the seriousness of what happened because the scene was filmed by the cameras of the Moulay Rachid stadium in Laâyoune. For his part, Mustapha Ouchrif was also suspended for 4 matches in addition to a fine of 1,500 dirhams, for insulting his aggressor.

The leaders of Olympique de Dcheira explained that this regrettable scene was born out of a disagreement between the two men. They never thought it would escalate. Abdelhadi Indjar also has to explain himself before the club’s disciplinary commission.

He apologized to the coach for this gesture that he deeply regrets. He says he has taken note of the FRMF’s decision, which amounts to the end of his career.
