Moroccan Football League Announces 2019-2020 Season Dates, VAR Implementation

The national championship (Botola pro) will take place from September 13, 2019 to June 28, 2020. This is what a statement from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced.

The Executive Committee of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) called for respect of the schedule of this championship, while taking into account the dates of the participation of Moroccan clubs in Arab and African competitions.

During the same meeting, the Committee announced the start date of the 16th finals of the Throne Cup, scheduled for August 30, 31 and September 1, 2019. The same statement also specified that Video Assistant Refereeing (VAR) will be adopted from the semi-finals, scheduled for October 15.

Jamal Sennoussi, President of the National Amateur Football League (LNFA), for his part, presented the programming of the matches of the different amateur championships. According to him, the "Sahara" amateur championship matches will be played with eleven clubs while those of the "North-East" amateur championship will be played with fifteen.

Following him, Jamal Kaaouachi, President of the Central Refereeing Commission (CCA), reviewed the new regional league divisions, according to Law 30-09 on Physical Education and Sports and the organic law on Regionalization. In this regard, the regional leagues are invited to hold their General Assemblies, in accordance with the provisions of Law 30-09, and this, before the General Assembly of the FRMF, scheduled for Monday, September 16, 2019.

In addition, Fouzi Lekjaâ announced to the members of the Executive Committee that the name of the new coach of the A national team would be known this week, to definitively turn the page "Renard".
