Morocco’s National Football Team Signs 6-Year Deal with Puma, Replacing Adidas

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has changed its equipment supplier. It has signed a new six-year contract with Puma, replacing Adidas.
Puma will now supply the national football team with clothing and sports equipment, starting in September 2019, after signing a six-year contract with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), reports the daily Assabah.
The Puma company was selected after studying three applications, including that of Le Coq Sportif and Adidas, who particularly wanted to extend his contract with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), indicates the same source.
According to the terms of the contract, Puma will have to pay 1.5 million euros per year to the FRMF, excluding bonuses and rewards, in the event that the national team achieves good performances during world and continental competitions. These clauses contrast with those of the previous contract linking the Federation to Adidas, with an increase of more than 100%. Indeed, the German firm was paying 700,000 euros per year to the Federation. In clear, the new agreement allows the FRMF to earn 800,000 euros more than before.
Puma is the official supplier of several national teams, including Italy, Ghana, and several clubs including Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.
The cancellation of the previous contract is due to the fact that Adidas did not provide the Atlas Lions with clothes and outfits of impeccable quality.
