Moroccan Father Drops Assault Case Against Daughter’s Teacher for $2,000

A man preferred to withdraw the complaint filed against his daughter’s aggressor, in exchange for the sum of 20,000 dirhams (about 2,000 euros). The story has provoked strong reactions on social networks.
In an affidavit addressed to the Attorney General in Meknes, the family father would have declared that an out-of-court settlement had been reached with the victim’s aggressor. The latter, who is none other than the victim’s teacher, had promised him marriage.
For the defense of the accused, the affidavit published on social networks is confusing, especially since the teacher claims to have never handed over any money to the complainant. She had renounced the complaint without any financial consideration.
On social networks, this transaction is controversial. Some have vigorously denounced the father’s attitude, who would have sacrificed his daughter’s honor for "a few dirhams".
