Moroccan Fashion Heiress Caught in UAE Cocaine Caftan Scandal
While traveling with her family, a young Moroccan woman was arrested in the United Arab Emirates, in possession of a significant quantity of cocaine found in her personal belongings. The Emirati authorities are investigating a possible attempt at drug trafficking.
The young woman, whose identity has not been revealed, is said to be the daughter of a famous businessman from Tangier. The accused was traveling with members of her family who were released after the initial investigations. As for the defendant, she has been placed in pre-trial detention. An investigation has been opened to determine the origin of the drugs and their probable destination, and whether the Moroccan woman had the complicity of other people to get through customs.
Six kilograms of raw cocaine were found in a suitcase belonging to the defendant, containing several traditional Moroccan caftans. The young woman, the owner of a luxury caftan boutique in the center of Tangier, is accused of having replaced the epaulettes of the caftans with small packets of cocaine.
