Moroccan Farmworker Killed in Spanish Bus Crash; Morocco Launches Crisis Response

A crisis cell has been set up following the tragic accident in Huelva, Spain, where a Moroccan agricultural seasonal worker lost her life when a bus overturned. This tragedy also left many injured, some of them in serious condition.
The authorities, in a statement, expressed their "deep sadness" after this accident that occurred in Almonte. The follow-up cell aims to examine the circumstances of this tragedy, to establish a link with the families of the victims and to ensure compliance with the legislation in force in the host country, in accordance with the bilateral agreements between Morocco and Spain.
The injured victims were evacuated and taken care of in the hospitals of Huelva and Seville. The Moroccan Consulate General in Seville and the Spanish authorities reacted quickly by setting up a follow-up cell at the level of the Consulate General and by going to the scene of the accident, it is reported.
According to the initial information, the accident was caused by poor visibility due to thick fog.
