Moroccan Farmer Accused of Brutally Maiming Donkey in Crop Dispute

An individual cut off the legs of a donkey with a knife in Kalaat Sraghna, at the level of the Ait Ben Hamd douar, in the commune of Ouled Bouali. The judicial authorities of the city opened an investigation on Saturday to elucidate the case and arrest the perpetrator of this cruel act.
The man, around 50 years old, cut off the legs of the donkey that would have entered his field and ravaged his crops, reports Al3omk. The public prosecutor’s office of the commune of Ouled Bouali opened an investigation to shed light on this barbaric act, after the owner of the animal, residing in the Ait Ben Hamd douar, filed a complaint with the royal gendarmerie.
This is the second act of cruelty towards a donkey recorded in recent days. Last week, a man of around sixty years old gouged out the eyes of a female donkey in the province of Safi using a sharp object, causing fatal injuries to the animal and rendering it blind. Animal rights defenders condemned this criminal act and called for the arrest of the perpetrator.
