Moroccan Fans Display Palestinian Support During World Cup Match Against Belgium

Like Tunisian supporters, Moroccan supporters have demonstrated their support for Palestine, which is not in the competition, in the 48th minute of play during the match between Morocco and Belgium, which ended in a victory (2-0) for the Atlas Lions.
On Sunday, Moroccan supporters unfurled a banner "Free Palestine" in the 48th minute of the Morocco-Belgium match. They also waved Palestinian flags and wore Palestinian scarves on their shoulders. The day before, it was the Tunisian supporters who took the lead in the 48th minute of the Tunisia-Australia match (0-1).
The 48th minute refers to the Nakba (catastrophe) of 1948, the exodus of the Palestinian Arab population that occurred during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. "Several hundred thousand Palestinians are led to leave their homes during the whole of 1948. Others will follow in the following years. Most of them take the direction of neighboring countries or territories - Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Gaza Strip - where they are penned up in theoretically provisional camps, many of which remain current."
