Moroccan Expats Outraged as Summer Travel Costs Soar Ahead of Marhaba 2024

Many Moroccans living abroad (MRE) have expressed their anger on social media at the rise in travel ticket prices, by boat or by plane, two weeks before the launch of the Marhaba 2024 Operation.
MREs have denounced through their posts on social networks the high prices of tickets which should reach 700 or even 800 euros per person for a trip to Morocco by boat this summer. A price increase due to the strong demand for tickets noted due to the Marhaba Operation which will start in a few days.
To address this situation, opposition parliamentary deputies have asked the Ministry of Transport and Logistics to take measures to relieve MREs and allow them to return to Morocco this summer with affordable tickets.
The Marhaba Operation takes place every year from June 15 to September 15. This year, it will be launched on June 13 due to the celebration of Eid al-Adha scheduled for June 16 in Morocco.
