Moroccan Transport Prices Surge Ahead of Eid al-Adha, Sparking Public Outcry

As Eid al-Adha approaches, Moroccans wishing to travel across the country are facing a new ordeal: the soaring prices of bus and grand taxi tickets. Faced with this situation, calls for government intervention are multiplying.
Exasperated citizens have called on Mohamed Abdeljalil, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, to demand measures to regulate the prices of intercity transport tickets. They denounce prices sometimes doubled, for certain destinations, making travel particularly expensive for families wishing to reunite during the holiday.
In addition to price regulation, Moroccans are also calling for the implementation of a toll-free number dedicated to reporting abusive practices by transport companies. This system would allow users to report cases of overpricing and contribute to the fight against speculation that is plaguing the transport sector during holiday periods.
