Ferry Prices Surge for Morocco-Spain Route, Angering Expatriates

Ferry ticket prices between Spain and Morocco have seen an unprecedented increase in recent weeks. A situation denounced by Moroccans living abroad (MREs) who wish to spend their summer holidays in Morocco.
The shipping companies have decided to increase the prices of ferry tickets, citing the rise in fuel prices. Currently, the connection between the port of Tarifa in Spain and the port of Tangier in Morocco costs between 250 and 300 euros. Rates considered high by the many Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) who plan to cross the strait to go to Morocco as part of the Marhaba Operation.
The opposition deputies have questioned the Ministry of Transport on this subject, inviting the authority to negotiate with the shipping companies to find a solution to this continuous increase in ticket prices in order to allow the MREs, who contribute to the development of their country of origin, to spend their holidays in Morocco and return to their countries of residence without difficulty.
