Morocco Prepares for Early Launch of Marhaba 2024 as 3.3 Million Travelers Expected

Contrary to previous years, the Marhaba operation marking the return of Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) to Morocco will start two days earlier than the usual date. The coincidence with Eid al-Adha requires it.
The Marhaba 2024 operation is traditionally organized in mid-June and continues until September 5 of each year. But the coincidence of the usual date of this operation with that of Eid al-Adha has led the authorities, this year, to advance the launch date by two days, i.e. precisely on June 13 next. Large influxes will have to be recorded during the operation. Morocco is preparing to welcome 3.3 million travelers, an increase of 4% compared to the previous year.
Preparations are well underway. In charge, nineteen organizations participating in the Marhaba 2024 operation. A maritime fleet of 32 ships operating on 11 different maritime lines is planned. As for the Moroccan port infrastructure, it has undergone significant improvements to ensure the fluidity of the operation. In Spain, 27,000 people are mobilized to provide the logistical support and services necessary for travelers.
Rabat and Madrid have strengthened the coordination of the operation in order to guarantee its success and offer all possible facilities to travelers. The various parties have also worked to improve services in the ports and provide additional logistical support, as well as to ensure the availability of emergency and rescue teams for rapid intervention if necessary.
