Moroccan Expat Returns Home to Find Himself ’Dead’ and Land Stolen for High-Rise Construction

Friday 24 May 2019, by Amine

A Moroccan from France has just returned to Morocco to discover with great surprise that instead of an empty plot of land belonging to him, there was a 5-story building under construction. Upon inquiring with the administration, he also learned that he was dead and buried.

Not only is this Moroccan expatriate officially dead in Morocco, but he would even have an heir, a single one, whom he does not know at all, but the very one who undertook to build a 5-story building on the 274 square meter plot of land belonging to him in Kenitra. A plot of land of great value given its strategic location...

This Moroccan national who has lived in France for 40 years and who bought this land to be able to make it profitable then undertook steps to have this inheritance canceled. He even proved that he was still alive (with a certificate of life) and that he still had 4 children and that therefore this single "false" heir who inherited the land made no sense. But the construction of the building continued.

However, the police took up the case and in court, his grievances were heard, according to the website Ahdath.info which reports all these facts. Namely that he has been declared dead since August 2017 and that he had bought the said land in 1982.
