Moroccan Expat Uncovers Identity Theft Scheme, Leads to Bust of Counterfeiting Ring in Kenitra

A Moroccan residing in France helped the judicial police dismantle a counterfeiting network. He had been declared dead and a fake heir had taken possession of a real estate property he owns in Kenitra.
The case came to light following a discovery made by this Moroccan residing abroad (MRE). It was about the construction work launched on his vacant lot in Kenitra, reports Al Massae. Surprised, he had gone to the headquarters of the land registry administration to file a complaint. That’s when he learned that he had been declared dead since August 3, 2017. A supposed sole heir had become the owner of the property, with the complicity of a network that had made him a fake death certificate and a fake hereditary act. This network had also launched construction work on a large building on the land.
The MRE then had a certificate of life issued. Subsequently, he filed a complaint with the Attorney General of the Court of Appeal of Kenitra. The elements of the national brigade of the judicial police (BNPJ) are in charge of the investigation. They managed to dismantle the counterfeiting network. The court of first instance canceled the hereditary act. A verdict confirmed by the Court of Appeal of Kenitra.
