Moroccan Entrepreneur Jailed for Attempted Bribery of Education Official

A Tiznit entrepreneur was sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of 5,000 dirhams for attempting to bribe the provincial delegate of the Ministry of National Education.
Arrested in the act last Friday, the man intended to cover up the shortcomings of certain projects carried out in the city, by trying to buy the silence of the ministerial official for 60,000 dirhams.
With the complicity of the delegate of National Education in Tiznit, a trap was set for him by the judicial police elements at the moment when he was to meet the official in a cafe in the city.
The individual indeed showed up at the meeting with a bag full of banknotes, for a total of 60,000 dirhams. The loot was seized by the security services, and the entrepreneur was brought before the courts for corruption.
