Moroccan Drâa Valley Named Among Top 10 Idyllic Destinations by New York Times

Located south of Marrakech, the Drâa Valley is a region rich in potential. Having experienced a high rate of visits this year, as part of numerous reports by journalists from the American daily newspaper, the New York Times, it is now among the Top 10 "idyllic destinations".
"South of Marrakech, the Drâa Valley always exerts an indefinable attraction while preserving the traces of its Berber kingdom, now almost disappeared," journalist Aatish Taseer had already written last May for the New York Times Style Magazine, which devoted a long travel diary to the region. Titled "In Search of Ancient Morocco," this diary highlighted "the diversity and natural wealth of the Kingdom and its millennial past," reports Hespress.
Fascinated by the landscapes, the journalist conveyed this in his article, specifying that "the Atlas belt that gives Morocco its twisted spine also serves as a barrier between worlds." Aatish Taseer also highlighted the Atlas, "renowned for its panoramic landscapes and its steep spiral slopes."
Accompanied by a local guide after landing in Marrakech, the traveler who fell in love with the kingdom, claims that "half of this country faces the sea, under the influence of Phoenicia, Carthage and Rome; the other half contemplates an ocean of sand, a world unto itself." Further on in his report, the journalist notes that "Arabia and Islam, coming from the east, have blended into the oldest element of Morocco’s syncretic character, the Berbers."
Through the long article produced, as well as the photographs of the natural landscapes, the journalist has reported on the "magic of Morocco." Outside the kingdom, the Top 10 of idyllic destinations selected by the New York Times also includes Tirana, in Albania, the island of Milos, in Greece, or Antigua, in Guatemala, the same source points out.
