The group of doctors would go to patients’ homes to take samples, in exchange for the sum of 900 dirhams. The samples are then sent to the university hospital laboratory, labeled with the names of patients hospitalized in the Covid-19 ward.
The investigators do not rule out the involvement of officials within the hospital in this criminal network, reports the site Amnous, stressing that an investigation is underway to determine any possible ramifications.
The 3 doctors were taken into custody pending the results of the judicial investigation, conducted under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
