MREs have the possibility to import from abroad and therefore drive in Morocco with a rental car. Here is what customs says exactly in its guide:

Spanish Driver Caught with 58 kg of Cannabis at Morocco-Spain Border Crossing
26 August 2023, by SaidA Spanish national, accused of drug trafficking, was arrested on Friday by customs officers at the Bab Sebta crossing point.
According to a customs source quoted by the MAP, the Spaniard was transporting 58 kg of cannabis resin in his vehicle.
The drugs were hidden in the form of tablets inside the fuel tank and dashboard of a vehicle registered in Spain that was about to leave Morocco.
Placed in custody, he will be brought before the judge at the end of the investigation. -
Ceuta: a Frenchman arrested with more than 87,000 euros
5 September 2023, by SaidA French national was arrested on Sunday by customs officers at the port of Bab Sebta. The man was trying to bring a large sum of undeclared money into Morocco.
In total, 87,840 euros undeclared to financial institutions (customs) were seized from the Frenchman who was entering Morocco in a car registered in France.
This sum was hidden in sheets under a wooden board in the trunk of the vehicle, as well as in the driver’s personal clothing and luggage.

Major Drug Bust: 60 Kilos Seized at Morocco-Ceuta Border Crossing

Moroccan Authorities Seize 22 Tons of Potentially Harmful Spanish Juice at Port
