The fight against fraud and smuggling in recent years has become one of the priorities of the Customs services. Colonel Abdelkader Battani, regional commander of the customs brigades in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, stressed that for this operation, three home searches were carried out in Tangier, resulting in the seizure of 28 tons of fabrics and 4,670 units of ready-to-wear clothing for women, men and children.
According to the same source, this operation carried out in various neighborhoods of Tangier also made it possible to seize 590 kg of labels, which are logos of globally recognized brands. An investigation has been opened to identify all the actors involved in this operation and, if possible, to dismantle this criminal network active in the smuggling of fabrics.
