Moroccan Customs Destroys 8 Tons of Cannabis, Illicit Goods Worth Millions in Dakhla

The Southern Inter-Regional Customs Directorate destroyed several tons of seized drugs, including cannabis, as well as illicit and contraband products, estimated at over 26.16 million dirhams (MDH), on Wednesday in Dakhla.
Specifically, 8 tons and 277 kg of cannabis resin, 5 tons and 29 kg of flavored tobacco (maassel), 426,757 packs of cigarettes, about 96 kg of ground tobacco, 376 grams of cocaine, and over 6.6 of cannabis (Kif) were incinerated in the controlled intercommunal landfill of Al Argoub.
In addition to these goods, 588 psychotropic tablets, 5,650 units of pesticides, 510 kg of honey and 845 kg of sea cucumber (Holothurians), as well as 115 kg of Araq wood (Miswak) were added.
These products were seized over the past three months by the various security services in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region. They were destroyed in the presence of representatives of the local authorities and the various security services, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
