Moroccan Customs Destroys 100 kg of Cocaine, Other Seized Drugs in Casablanca

The Moroccan customs service has proceeded to destroy cocaine as well as illicit products that were seized during various operations. The destruction took place on Thursday, November 21 near the Médiouna landfill in Casablanca.
The incinerated products included 100 kg of cocaine, 150 kg of cannabis resin and kif, as well as 483 kg of khat, 620 kg of shisha tobacco, 363 cartons of cigarettes, and 2.5 kg of snuff (Nefha) and marijuana.
The provincial director of customs, Fadil El Bachir, indicated that these products were seized in 2018 and 2019 by the various competent services. He also praised the efforts that the customs services continue to make in order to apprehend all those involved in illicit trafficking cases.
The destruction was carried out under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, in the presence of representatives of all the parties concerned, namely the Royal Gendarmerie, the National Security, the local authorities, the Civil Protection and the Ministry of Health.
