Moroccan Customs Destroy Over 1 Ton of Drugs in Ouarzazate Incineration

Customs set fire to a significant amount of drugs and non-consumable food products. The destruction operation took place on Wednesday, September 11, in Ouarzazate in the presence of the various stakeholders.
Valued at over 11 million dirhams by Abdelbasset Al Imami, an official at the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration in Ouarzazate, the destroyed products were recently seized during several operations.
According to the MAP, it is 1,166 kg of chira (cannabis resin), 10 kg of cannabis and snuff tobacco, as well as a significant quantity of food products unfit for consumption.
The destruction operation was carried out under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in coordination with the local authorities, the Royal Gendarmerie, the National Security, the Civil Protection and the delegation of the National Office of Food Safety (ONSSA) in Ouarzazate.
The MAP also reported the presence of representatives of the Inssaf Association for Consumer Protection and Guidance in Drâa Tafilalet.
