Moroccan Craft Exports Surge: US, Canada, and Europe Drive Demand

Enjoying a good reputation on the world market, Moroccan craft products are establishing themselves, contributing significantly to the kingdom’s export turnover.
During the first four months of the current year, exports of Moroccan craft products have seen a strong increase, particularly to Canada (68%) and the United States (10%) compared to the same period in 2020, said the Moroccan Ministry of Crafts.
With 124% for Belgium and 93% for France, the "Other European Countries" category follows the same trend (87%). The European continent, with Belgium and France in the lead, has for its part, strengthened its progress with 72% during January-April 2021 regarding the consumption of Moroccan craft products, the same source specifies.
In addition, the German, Dutch and Italian markets are also improving their imports of Moroccan crafts, marking positive growth of 71%, 52% and 49% respectively. The same goes for Japan (89%) or Australia (242%).
In terms of contribution, the three markets continue to absorb 90% of the global export turnover. Europe with a share rising to 48% with France in the lead (17%), the USA with a contribution of 26% and the Arab market whose share is 16%.
