Moroccan Craft Exports Surge 9.3%, Led by Traditional Clothing and Pottery

Moroccan craft products have seen a strong increase in exports during the first 2 months of this year. Indeed, international demand has increased by 9.3% compared to the previous year.
According to data released by the Ministry of Tourism, the overall export turnover recorded an increase of 9.3% thanks to strong international demand.
Traditional clothing is at the forefront of exports with a 22% market share, followed by pottery and stone products and carpets with a contribution to turnover of 17% and 14% respectively.
Belgium, which recorded a 134% growth in demand, is in the lead among European importers, placing Europe as the primary international partner with a 39% share, followed by the American continent 28%, and the Arab States 22%.
The ministry states that the cities of Casablanca and Marrakech hold the highest participation rates in the export market, with a significant share of crafts from Fez and Tangier.
