Moroccan Cities Rank High in Global Family Summer Vacation Destinations

Two Moroccan cities are among the top nine global destinations most sought after by families for their summer vacation. Spain dominates the ranking.
Many families are looking to make the most of the warmer months. For nearly two-thirds (62%) of them, spending quality time is the main motivation for traveling this year, followed by finding the time to relax properly (58%) and discovering new places (48%). According to Booking, Tangier and Marrakech occupy the 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the top 9 of the world’s most sought-after summer destinations for families. These are accommodation searches, including at least one child, for dates between April 22, 2024 and April 29, 2024 with arrival dates from June 1, 2024 to September 1, 2024 compared to search dates between April 22, 2023 and April 29, 2023 with arrival dates from June 1, 2023 to September 1, 2023, the online booking platform specifies, adding that these searches are already up 8%.
Durrës (Albania) tops the ranking. Destin, a municipality in Florida located in Okaloosa County, United States, takes fourth place. Then come two Spanish cities, Seville and Palma de Mallorca. Tokyo (Japan) takes seventh place. Dubrovnik (Croatia) is in eighth place, while Madrid (Spain) completes the top 9.
