Marrakech Named Top 10 Travel Destination for 2024 by Airbnb

Marrakech ranks sixth in the ranking of the 10 best vacation destinations to visit in 2024, compiled by the short-term rental company Airbnb. The ochre city "is relatively close to the United Kingdom, with flights of less than four hours, but you feel like you’re in another world. Its endless winding streets, its ornate gardens and palaces, and its access to the Sahara and the Atlas Mountains make it a great place to visit. Meanwhile, the stalls of the Jemaa el-Fnaa market are a must-see for all visitors," the platform comments.

Indianapolis, the capital of the state of Indiana in the United States, tops the ranking. It is followed by Warsaw (Poland). The Japanese cities of Osaka and Kyoto and the Argentine capital Buenos Aires come next. Salvador (Brazil) takes seventh place, while Paris (France), which will host the Olympic Games next year, is in eighth place. Düsseldorf (Germany) and Puerto del Carmen, a seaside town on the southeast coast of the Spanish island of Lanzarote, complete the top 10.

To establish the ranking, Airbnb took into account global searches made between January 1, 2023 and September 30, 2023 for future travel between certain dates next year.
