Moroccan Captain Mehdi Benatia Sidelined for 4 Weeks with Knee Injury

The news is not good for Mehdi Benatia, who was injured on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, against Al Sadd, in the Asian Champions League. As a result, the captain of the Atlas Lions will be away from the stadiums for at least four weeks.
Mehdi Benatia will be unavailable for at least a good month. This is not good news for the defender of the Atlas Lions, who is coming off a disastrous AFCON and who has an obligation to shine during this new season that is just beginning with his club.
Indeed, the Al Duhail defender is affected in the right knee. This injury occurred following a bad landing during an Asian Champions League match between Al Duhail and Al Saad, the media details.
The latest news confirms that the captain of the Atlas Lions must undergo knee surgery and would have already left Qatar for France to undergo the surgical intervention.
The direct consequence of this injury is that the Moroccan defender will miss his teammates for the return leg of the 8th finals of the Asian Champions League, as well as the Super Cup "Cheikh Jassem", against the same Al Sadd club.
