Morocco’s Medhi Benatia Retires: Former Coach Renard Hails ’Legendary’ Defender

Following the decision of the Atlas Lions central defender, Medhi Benatia, to retire from international football, former national coach Hervé Renard reacted on his Instagram account.
Hervé Renard wanted to congratulate Medhi Benatia for "his very brilliant international career".
"He will have been a fantastic captain throughout the time I was in charge of the Moroccan national team. A huge thank you to him," he added.
Then, he did not fail to conclude: "He will remain in the legend of Moroccan football," he affirmed.
The day before, the player had announced the end of his career with the Moroccan national football team, after more than 10 years of good and loyal service. This decision comes after several months of reflection.
