Moroccan BPO Giant Intelcia Expands to Caribbean, Opens Jamaica Office

The Moroccan Business Process Outsourcing company Intelcia has opened a site in New Kingston, Jamaica. This is its first establishment in the Caribbean.
The Moroccan group Intelcia is pursuing its international expansion. It is now present in Jamaica, where it has opened a site in New Kingston with the aim of serving 600 Jamaicans, reports The Gleaner. Present at the opening ceremony, the Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Aubyn Hill, stated that the government looks forward to the innovations that the Moroccan company will bring to the country’s business landscape. According to him, global services remain one of the fastest growing economic sectors in the country, with significant employment growth. In total, more than 55,000 Jamaicans are employed in the BPO sector. There are more than 70 companies.
"Intelcia felt a sense of pride in being able to partner with a developing country and noted that countries like Morocco and Jamaica did not have to be consumers of others, but should be more aggressive and optimistic about the future," said Karim Bernoussi, co-founder and CEO of Intelcia Global. He hopes the company will continue to have a positive impact after the opening of the New Kingston site.
"This inauguration is a key milestone in the history of our group, as this new venture further supports our commitment to consolidating investments that will serve the US region by offering more employment opportunities to Jamaican youth... There is a great synchrony between our core values and the spirit of Jamaica, which will greatly facilitate our integration into this very attractive outsourcing destination," said Karim Bernoussi.
Created in Morocco in 2000, Intelcia is present in 17 countries, on three continents. It has 85 sites. It has more than 220 clients and 40,000 employees. Its turnover is expected to reach 760 million euros this year.
