Moroccan Basketball Federation Under Investigation for $3 Million Embezzlement

Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Hassan Abyaba, filed a complaint against the former board of the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation (FRMBB) to denounce cases of embezzlement. The National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ) is conducting an investigation.
Already, the legal representative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Kamal El Hajhouj, president of the temporary commission in charge of managing the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation (FRMBB), have been heard as part of this case, reports Assabah. Similarly, the former president of the FRMBB accused of having diverted public money will be heard by the BNPJ. In total, the former board of the basketball federation would have embezzled some 30 million dirhams.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports carried out an audit, which revealed that subsidies paid in three installments during the year 2016 to the FRMBB were diverted. Hence the complaint filed by the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Hassan Abyaba to shed light on these cases of embezzlement.
