Moroccan Banks and Akwa Group Pledge Over 1.4 Billion Dirhams for Earthquake Relief Fund

The Professional Group of Moroccan Banks (GPBM) has just made a significant gesture to come to the aid of the victims of the recent earthquake that hit the country. This is also the case for Akwa Group.
In a press release, the GPBM announces a donation of 850 million dirhams to the "Special Fund for the management of the effects of the earthquake that hit the Kingdom of Morocco". This donation responds to the Royal Appeal and marks the commitment of the banking sector in the national solidarity effort.
According to the same press release, the GPBM states that Moroccan banks will remain mobilized to continue to support this collective effort.
On the Akwa Group side, its subsidiaries Afriquia SMDC & Afriquia Gaz have also expressed their commitment to the victims. Saïd Elbaghdadi, CEO of Afriquia SMDC, announces a contribution of 600 million dirhams to the special fund. This donation, according to him, is part of the same national solidarity movement that animates all the institutions of the country.
