Moroccan El Bakkali Clinches Second World Title in 3,000m Steeplechase

Moroccan Soufiane El Bakkali won the world champion title in the 3,000m steeplechase for the second time. With a time of 8 minutes 03 seconds 53, the Olympic champion once again stood out by beating the Ethiopian world record holder, Lamecha Girma, who completed the distance in 8:05.44. The third place went to the Kenyan Abraham Kibiwot, with a time of 8:11.98.
This victory is the fourth consecutive world medal for the 27-year-old Moroccan, after London, Doha and Eugene. During an interview with the Arryadia channel, the visibly moved athlete dedicated his feat to King Mohammed VI on the occasion of his birthday, as well as to his parents and the Moroccan people who have never ceased to support him.
