Moroccan Authorities Seize 10 Tons of Adulterated Olive Oil, Arrest Three in Trafficking Bust

Elements of the Royal Gendarmerie from the province of Fkih Ben Saleh have once again seized several tons of adulterated olive oil in the commune of Al khalfia and arrested three suspects.
During an intervention in Al khalfia in the province of Fquih Ben Salah, the gendarmes seized nearly 10 tons of adulterated olive oil ready to be sold in different regions of the area, reports L’Opinion. They also arrested three individuals. Pending the elucidation of this case, the suspects were placed in custody and made available to the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office. A similar operation was carried out a few days ago, resulting in the arrest of a person in possession of more than 5 tons of adulterated olive oil, in the commune of Bradia, intended for sale in the weekly markets of different regions of Morocco.
How do the suspects manufacture the adulterated olive oil? They are suspected of combining cooking oil with water, olive leaves and colored industrial substances. They then package it deceptively before selling the counterfeit liquid on the market at lower prices than those applied for local olive oil.
