Moroccan Artists Sweep AFRIMA 2019 with Three Major Music Awards

Morocco made a sensation at the 6th edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA). This Saturday, November 23 in Lagos, Moroccan artists Aminux and Nada Azhari won three trophies.
Best male artist in North Africa and best African dance or choreography, for the hit "Bini w Binek" in which Animux addresses the theme of jealousy as a scourge that harms personal life. As for Nadia Azhari, seen as the hope of "Indie Pop Electro" music, she comes away with the trophy for best female artist in North Africa for her hit "Jrit".
Afrima is a space for distinguishing and recognizing the merits of artists on the continent who promote African music. Organized in partnership with the African Union (AU), the 2019 edition of AFRIMA is an opportunity to celebrate the cultural specificity of the continent through a rich and diverse program.
For this 6th edition as well, the artists registered massively. More than 8,157 applications according to sources close to the organization. Attention is already turning to 2020 for even more innovations from this platform that celebrates excellence in musical art in Africa and the diaspora with 36 categories spread across the five regions of the continent.
